Hello! My name is Ally, and I am a 35-year old nurse living in Canberra with my family. I work in private practice as well as with numerous community and government organisations providing services for families and children from all backgrounds.

As a Registered Nurse, my particular area of expertise is in children's development.

Over the last 15 years of my career I have worked with children who have experienced war, trauma and other forms of abuse. My work took me to many places in the world - in prisons, Bosnian orphanages during the war, the Papua New Guinea Highlands with HIV +ve mothers, rural towns in Australia where 80% of all parents experienced addiction to methamphetamines, and in remote areas of Australia long before the "Little Children are Sacred Report" put the abuse of Aboriginal children on the national agenda.

After many years of traveling and adventure, I am now living in Canberra with my family. I work with government organisations, not-for-profit agencies, and universities as a consultant in the design and evaluation of early intervention programs. I teach undergraduate nurses, welfare workers and psychology students in a number of subjects including child and family development. I also run a busy private practice offering workshops in infant massage and gentle "baby calming" techniques for parents wanting a bit of extra support.

My qualifications and memberships include:

  • Registered Nurse, ACT Nurses Board & NSW Nurses Board
  • Certified Infant Massage Instructor (Member International Association of Infant Massage)
  • Certified "Happiest Baby" educator
  • Graduate Certificate in Health Education
  • Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management (Trauma Recovery)
  • Advanced Diploma in Project Management
  • Cert. IV in Workplace Training and Assessment

Feel free to drop me a line. I look forward to hearing from you!
