This is week 2 of a six-week workshop for parents with babies or young children who have a disability.
In a small group, for about 1 hour each week you will have the opportunity to enjoy spending some quality time getting to know and enjoy your baby through massage. This is a precious opportunity that many parents miss out on when their baby or child is diagnosed as "having a disability".
Research shows that using infant massage may help to
~ improve your baby's sleep-awake patterns
~ relieve tummy troubles
~ assist your baby's growth and development
~ improve your baby's sensory awareness
~ understand what your baby is trying to tell you, and
~ meet with other parents in a relaxed and social atmosphere
These benefits can be particularly important for a baby or child who has a disability and their parents.
This class is taught by an IAIM Certified Infant Massage Instructor and fully qualified Registered Nurse.
To be eligible for this FREE workshop you need to be the parent or primary carer of a baby (aged 0-8 months) or a child who is not yet crawling or walking, and who has a disability (any).
This is a FREE workshop being offered by Skills for Carers @ Canberra Institute of Technology for parents of a baby or child who has a disability. Bookings must be made directly with Skills for Carers. Please click here to book your place in this course or contact Skills for Carers on: 6207 3628
