Massage is one of the most powerful ways for parents & caregivers to:

~ learn to understand their baby's cues and signals

~ help promote bonding & attachment

~ help their baby to sleep and settle

~ promote physical development, growth & brain development

~ reduce their own and their baby's stress

~ adjust to their new role, including reducing post-natal depression

~ help siblings adjust to a new baby

It is never too late to start massage with your child, and we offer a wide range of infant and toddler massage programs to suit your needs and requirements. If you cannot find a program to suit your needs or your schedule, please let us know. We regularly add new workshops to our program.

All of our massage programs can be tailored for specific groups, and are also available privately. All families attending our workshop receieve a Baby Massage Pack containing handouts, diagrams and oils for massaging your baby.

We teach the International Association of Infant Massage program.

Infant Massage

ABOUT: This is a five-week program for parents with babies who are not yet actively crawling. You attend with your baby, and learn the strokes and routines with your baby, while the instructor demonstrates on a doll. In the workshop you will learn:

~ A range of relaxing and stimulating strokes and routines to use with your baby

~ Routines for special situations, such as colic and tummy pains and skin sensitivities

~ How your baby communicates with you from birth

~ How to adapt the routines as your baby grows and develops

AGES: Newborn - up to the age of active crawling

DURATION: 1 hour x 5 weeks

Infant Massage & PND

ABOUT: Infant massage is known to be one of the most effective methods for reducing the symptoms and severity of post-natal depression. This is a five-week workshop for parents who are experiencing postnatal depression, anxiety or other similar struggles, and whose babies are aged from birth and not yet crawling. This is workshop is limited to very small numbers, and provides parents with the opportunity to take some time out from the overwhelm, and simply enjoy some time with their baby in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. Couples are welcome.

All the techniques taught are the same as our ordinary infant massage workshop. In addition, we focus on many of the issues and challenges facing parents affected by PND. You attend with your baby, and learn the strokes and routines with your baby, while the instructor demonstrates on a doll. In the workshop you will learn:

~ A range of relaxing and stimulating strokes and routines to use with your baby

~ Routines for special situations, such as tummy pains and sleep troubles

~ How your baby's communication skills are changing and developing

~ How to adapt the routines as your baby grows and develops

Infant Massage & Disability

ABOUT: When a baby or child is diagnosed as "having a disability", parents often find themselves thrown into a world or therapy and medical regimes, grief and confusion. Attending an infant massage workshop provides parents with a precious opportunity to switch off, and spend time getting to know and enjoy their baby "beyond the disability".

The benefits of infant massage are now well known. They include improved sensory and physical development, improved growth rate, improved sleep patterns, and many others. Most of all, infant massage helps to strengthen the bond between parents and their babies. These can be particularly important benefits for babies and children with a disability, and their parents.

This is a six-week workshop for parents whose baby or child has a disability. Couples are welcome.

In this workshop, you attend with your baby, and learn the strokes and routines with your baby, while the instructor demonstrates on a doll. In the workshop you will learn:

~ A range of relaxing and stimulating strokes and routines to use with your baby

~ Routines for special situations, such as tummy pains and sleep troubles

~ How your baby's communication skills are changing and developing

~ How to adapt the routines to your baby's individual needs, preferences and sensitivities

Family Time Massage

ABOUT: This is (typically) a five-session program for families who have a baby with a serious or chronic illness, or a disability. Massage during this difficult time offers a unique way to spend time together, to bond and most of all, to communicate love.

~ Program individually adapted and designed to the unique needs of individual families

~ Private family workshops only. Siblings and grandparents welcome.

~ Delivered in hospital, home or hospice

~ Special routines for babies with high levels of pain or skin sensitivity

AGES: Babies and toddlers

DURATION: Depends on individual needs of familes. Typically a total of five hours spread out over several sessions.

COST: FREE. A referral from your health care practitioner is essential.
